one of "those" days

That's what today was. You know the kind of day I mean... we all have them. "Those" days.... BLERG.

Schoolwork was an uphill battle. I believe more tears were shed (by Emma) than actual work was accomplished.

Rosalie hardly napped at all.

No matter how hard I tried I could not get on top of the messes that were being made here and there, or even get my kitchen cleaned all the way. My house=disaster.

There was no chance for me to take a shower until after lunch, and then I had to hurry so fast that makeup was done as quickly as possible and hair was haphazardly thrown up.

Thus, when my piano student arrived, I and my house were a complete mess. But thankfully Miss Ella and her mom are two very sweet sweethearts and don't ever seem to mind my lack of put-together-ness.

My blender stopped working. Right in the middle of smoothie-making. (chunky smoothies, anyone?? Mmmm.)

Annabelle spilled afore-mentioned smoothie.

I yelled at the girls when they (once again) took foooooreverrrrr cleaning up their room. I hate when I yell. :(

We had to rush rush rush through dinner and rush rush rush to make it out the door in time for AWANA. Rushing is no fun, especially with three kids. I hate rushing.

Today has me beat... I'm ashamed to admit it, but you win, Wednesday.

But, you know what??

Even today had it's shiny moments. French-braided pigtails on my little blondie. Cinnamon-raisin bagels. Sweet baby cuddles from a tired Rosalie. Texting with my mom. Sunshine.

And, guess what...

Tomorrow is a brand new day, fresh and unspoiled, waiting to be filled with good and pleasant things, cheerful faces and refreshed hearts. thank you Lord.

With that blessed truth in mind, I feel much brighter already.

that bag of peanut butter m&m's waiting for me as soon as these kids are in bed isn't hurting either :)

Sorry for the hard day... don't you just hate when you wake up in the morning and you just KNOW, "Ugh. It is going to be one of THOSE days..."

Glad you could find the joy in the little things though... and yes, there is always hope for a better day tomorrow!! :)

U Nut! Without these trying days we would not appreciate the less frustrating ones nearly as much! You are the GREATEST Mommy. Prayers going out for your Mom...Hope she is doing well. Now I have to go to the store and buy a bag of M&M's for later. Love to all.

oh I totally get what you mean. Those days just seem to have it out for ya from the word go. But your positive attitude makes me perk up-thanks for that!

Haha, we basically wrote the same post, except my "day" was today. So glad tomorrow is a new day and that day is Friday and Stephen has it off so we can move to our new place and have some new beginnings there. :) And the very sugary and fattening carmel latte I had this morning at Panera also helped me get through my morning.

mmmmm, peanut butter M&M's - see I am focusing on the positives too :)

I loved this post and am so inspired that you took the time to include the little 'shiny' moments - that's what it is all about.

If you want the rainbow you gotta put up with the rain!! ~Happy Friday.

Sorry about your day sister.
I'm glad you were still able to find your bright spots. Sometimes they ever seem brighter when you're having a bad day and that makes them all the more wonderful.
I have those days too. haha well you know I do cuz i'm always talking about them.
Love you lady!!

Oh dear, those days are so hard! We have what seems like a lot of those around here. I think you do an amazing job of looking at the positives and staying cheerful though. I need to learn to do that!
