this post ends with me talking about poop.

hi darlings. First things first.
THANK YOU. If I could hug you all, I would. Twice. This is what I love about the blogging world: you pour out your heart and your thoughts and your fears and sometimes your tears, and in return you get empathy, support, encouragement, and LOVE. It's truly amazing, and truly beautiful. Last week was hard, but I found my whole family and myself completely surrounded by so much love from wonderful people and friends that it brought me to tears and to my knees, thanking the Lord for His sweet kindness in blessing myself and those I love with such goodness from all around. And every one of your comments with your encouraging words, prayers, thoughts, meant SO much.  (Emery even sang me a song! How's that for encouragement??) You people are the bestest.

As of now my mom is NOT going to do the radiation, because the side effects are so severe, and possibly permanent. It's never a good thing to have one's brain fried. Especially when there isn't any guarantee it would actually work. So, there's a lot of research going on right now, looking at other methods and options of treatment. After our initial shock and dismay, we're back on track, thinking positive and praying for lots of guidance, still praying and hoping for healing. And why shouldn't we? Hope is one of the trademarks of a vibrant faith in our ever-present God! He is infinitely and amazingly good! We'll see what He has in store next and simply try to trust Him fully, in both the good and the bad moments.

Well, as you can see, I'm a bit behind in blogging. I've honestly been feeling behind and a wee bit overwhelmed on some fronts, so pardon me if it takes me a bit to catch up. But oh, the things I shall blog about!! It'll be worth the wait, I promise. My "List of Blogs to Write Sometime Soon-ish" includes (but is not limited to):
-about our trip to Colorado
-a home/crafty/project post
-in honor of Rosalie turning one (!!!) I thought I might actually share her birth story finally. Fancy that.
-about Rosalie's first birthday (again, !!!!!)
-on springtime delights
-concerning my girls and their ever-delightful imaginations

I know. You're skeptical that I'll ever get around to any of those, much less all of them. I'll give it my darndest!

Before I leave you to go and clean my messy kitchen, would you like to see how Rosalie spent her evening (until I realized she was doing it and put a stop to it, that is)?

I give you Rosalie, eater of purple markers and one-year-old extraordinaire!

I'm not sure what that is on my floor... a raisin?? I swear, my house was completely clean just yesterday.

Here's the best part, folks. That marker is NOT a washable one. This leaves me to wonder two things:
1) HOW and WHY do I even have kid markers that are NOT washable?? It makes no sense.
2) Do non-washable markers taste better than washable ones? Because I checked, and there were about 20 markers that ARE washable that she could have gotten a hold of in that fatal ten minutes for which I left the room. But no, she had to eat the NON-washable one. My child may very well have a purple tongue for days.

Of course, since she was covered in purple marker, I put her in the bathtub to try and scrub off as much as I could.
And then, as soon as I had gotten her as clean as she was going to get, she promptly pooped. In the tub. If you're a mom and your child has done this, you know what it means... the bath becomes null and void and one must repeat the whole process AFTER cleaning out the tub from said poop. So I fished her out and stood her on the rug so I could do just that.... and she promptly pooped. Again. On the rug.

(are you tired of reading the word "poop" yet? You're in luck. That's it! Thank goodness.)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

It's a good thing she's so cute.

OH.MY.GOODNESS!!! If she reads any of this as a teenager, she might just be mortified! HAHA! But for us readers sake, I'm sure glad you shared it! And yes, I'm quite convinced that God made babies THAT cute on purpose!!! ;-)

And know that your family is still in my prayers. I can't fully imagine what you are going through, but I know WHO you are looking to for guidance and He will see you through! <3

I am glad to know you are thinking happy thoughts in regards to your Mom's situation :)

The poop thing totally cracked me up, especially because the other day I was watching my niece (for like, 30 minutes) and she had the worst poop diaper ever, it got ON MY ARMS and on THE CARPET. So yeah, POOP!

We're continuing to pray for your mom (and all of you!) and for wisdom in what course of treatment to do.

Rosalie is so cute! Evil non-washable markers! I don't know why they even make kid markers that aren't washable. Sorry she got purple marker all over herself and then gave you a bathtime surprise. Ick. It is a very good thing the kids are cute. :) Mine would have been given away a long time ago if it wasn't for that fact. ;)
